An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a vital inspection that checks the health and safety of your property’s electrical systems. Whether you’re a landlord, business owner, or homeowner, regular testing is key to compliance, insurance requirements, and most importantly protecting lives and property.
EICRs help prevent electrical fires, shocks, and accidents. By identifying hidden faults, damaged accessories, or exposed wiring, you proactively protect employees, tenants, and visitors.
While not a legal requirement, an EICR supports compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations and the Health & Safety at Work Act both of which require electrical safety.

EICRs are recommended every 10 years for homes, every 5 years or at tenancy change for rented properties, and every 5 years for businesses. Properties with swimming pools should be tested annually.
